How much does a new roof cost?

There are several factors that going to determining the cost of your roof. First and foremost is the square footage. Roofing prices are all based on cost per square foot. Other determining factors can be the pitch of the roof, types of materials being used, chimney’s needing to be flashed, skylights needing to be replaced, how many layers are being removed, if we’re replacing all the plywood decking, etc.

Don’t make your decision based on cost alone. Hiring the cheapest roofing contractor can cost you double in the end. More times than not, you’ll wind up with an uninsured group that installs inferior products improperly.

Our recommendation is to always sit with a few reputable companies and decide based off the information gathered.

Is vinyl siding a good investment?

Remodeling your home can often be a daunting task. Once your budget is set, there are so many options and styles to choose from that the design process alone can turn into a part-time job.

According to Remodeling Magazine 2014’s cost versus value report, installing vinyl siding is a smart investment. With one of the highest returns of any major home remodeling project when it’s time to sell, the homeowner, on average, may see a 78.2% return on investment.

Updating the siding on your home is one investment that is sure to yield a return.

Does siding replacement effect the inside of my home?

When we remove your old siding from the house, you may experience some shaking on the inside. We will recommend that you remove any items from the interior walls that are fragile and may be disturbed during the siding process. You may experience nail pops in the drywall due to the vibrations, as well. Although uncommon, these things may occur, and are relatively easy to fix.

Will my landscaping get ruined during a roofing project?

We go to great lengths to ensure that we leave your house in the same (or better) condition than when we arrived. During our roofing projects, we nail tarps to the roofline and stretch them out past all your flowers, bushes, and shrubbery. We work as carefully as possible to not damage any of your landscaping. This goes for decks, pavers, walkways, stoops, and fences as well. We spend 20 – 40 minutes in the morning prepping the house for the demolition process, making sure that everything is protected before we begin.

Why are my windows drafty?

Windows may become drafty for several reasons. Caulk cracks, improper window locking mechanisms, poorly lined interlocks, poor insulation within the interior walls, and damaged or missing weather-stripping are all culprits for drafty windows. However, at Safeguard, we’re trained to assess your situation and recommend the proper remedy, whether it be replacing the windows, re-insulating your walls, or a combination or both.

How do I know if I am hiring the right contractor?

Here at Safeguard, we believe the answer is quite simple, and it involves one word: RESEARCH. When researching a company you’re considering doing business with, there are a few important things to note.

Contractors who use materials that are up to industry standard is, primarily, the groundwork for a good company. Subpar materials can fail much earlier than expected, leaving you with an enormous problem, for a job that should’ve been done right the first time.

Next, make sure that the company you are considering has positive reviews online. This is the era of the Internet, where grievances are aired out online. We’re all guilty of purchasing a product and then checking reviews afterwards, only to find out that the product has negative feedback. This is the same in construction. Just because a company has a big name does not mean that you are going to get a big quality product. There are online platforms such as Yelp, Angie’s List, Google, Facebook, and many others that provide you with honest feedback from real customers. Nobody is perfect, but if there is a trend of negative reviews, chances are that company is not as involved with their installs as they are with their sales.

At Safeguard, we take the upmost pride in our onsite abilities. We leave no stone unturned, and we only use the finest products on your home. We also maintain an A+ and five-star rating, which we earn daily. Please review who you choose to do business with!

How much does new vinyl siding cost?

The cost of your vinyl siding project will depend on a few different factors. Mainly, the material manufacturer and styles of materials used will have the greatest impact on the final cost. Other factors include the existing siding on the house that needs to be removed, window lineal options, Super corner post options, custom trim and soffit options, standard vinyl siding vs. vinyl cedar impressions, and other upgraded panels. The best way to find out an accurate price for residing your home is to figure out the exact materials that you desire.
